A Better-Built Home
House-By-Numbers is designed for performance and long-term value, not the lowest initial construction price. A reinforced concrete ICF home will generally cost more upfront than conventional wood framing. It is the right fit for owners who value resilience, energy efficiency, quiet comfort, refined design, lower long-term operating demands, and a home intended to last for generations. If lowest first cost is the only priority, conventional construction may be the better choice. If lasting quality matters, we should talk.

High Performance

Strength, comfort, and efficiency built into the structure.

Nudura ICF construction combines a monolithic reinforced-concrete core with continuous EPS insulation on both sides of the wall. The result is a tighter, quieter, more stable building envelope with minimal thermal bridging, substantial thermal mass, strong fire performance, and site-specific resistance to wind and seismic loads. It is not simply more insulation — it is a fundamentally different way to build the home.

Up to 4-Hour
Fire Resistance
Nudura wall assemblies are listed for two- and four-hour fire-resistance configurations when constructed to the applicable tested assembly. The concrete roof strategy further reduces combustible exterior-envelope components.
Site-Engineered
Wind & Seismic
The reinforced concrete shell is engineered for the home’s location, exposure, openings, roof loads, wind requirements, and seismic design category rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all claim.
R-22 / R-35
Continuous Insulation
Nudura ICF Series assemblies provide minimum rated thermal performance, with the XR35 option available for higher-performance envelopes. Continuous insulation greatly reduces the thermal bridging common in wood framing.
STC 50+
Quiet Comfort
A six-inch-or-greater concrete-core wall assembly can achieve an STC rating of at least 50 when constructed in accordance with Nudura’s tested assembly, helping separate the interior from traffic, weather, and neighborhood noise.
Lower Loads
Energy Performance
Continuous insulation, reduced air leakage, and concrete thermal mass moderate indoor temperature swings. Final energy savings and HVAC sizing depend on climate, orientation, glazing, equipment, and the completed design.
30-Year
Nudura Performance Warranty
Nudura publishes a limited warranty covering specified minimum thermal-resistance and acoustical-performance properties for 30 years, subject to the issued warranty’s terms, products, installation, and project conditions.
One coordinated envelope. One warranty opportunity. When eligible Nudura, Tremco, Dryvit, Prebuck, and related Tremco CPG components are specified together, a project may qualify for single-source building-envelope warranty coverage addressing wall assemblies, openings, transitions, flashings, waterproofing, and roofing connections. Coverage and term are project-specific and must be confirmed in the issued warranty. Review Nudura warranty information ↗

A disaster-resistant, energy-efficient, fire-rated, custom-feeling home — delivered as a numbered system with plans and engineering included.

Faster than traditional construction. Durable for 100+ years. Shippable anywhere a container can go.

FAQ

Straight answers before you build.

A House-By-Numbers home is a premium, high-performance concrete home. These questions clarify what we supply, what remains local, and how the process works.

Is an HBN home cheaper than wood framing?
Usually not on initial construction cost. ICF is selected for long-term value: resilience, energy performance, comfort, quiet, durability, and reduced exposure to fire, wind, pests, rot, and moisture-related damage. Owners focused only on the lowest first cost may be better served by conventional construction.
What is included?
Plan design, structural engineering, the complete specified exterior-envelope package, Nudura ICF walls, LiteDeck roof deck, reinforcement package, Tremco waterproofing and roofing components, Dryvit stucco and selected NewBrick, Strata windows and sliders, custom iron entry door, Fab-Form bracing, manifests, and build documentation.
What is not included?
The local contractor and subcontractors, concrete, site work, permit and impact fees, MEP systems, garage doors, interior framing and finishes, fixtures, appliances, furniture, landscaping, and other locally purchased work or materials. This is not a complete exclusion list; every proposal defines the final scope.
Can I customize a standard model?
Yes. The four standard models create an efficient starting point, but final plans and exterior designs will vary. Layouts, openings, finishes, roof expression, garages, and site response are refined with the design team while preserving the engineered ICF system.
Can you supply a fully custom home?
Yes. We review the client’s existing plans or design direction for ICF compliance, then coordinate the required design and engineering. Conventional wood-frame plans generally require redrawing and new structural engineering for the ICF and concrete-roof system.
Do I need an ICF contractor?
You need a qualified local general contractor and a trained ICF installation team. Experienced ICF contractors are available in most markets, and Tremco/Nudura training is available for capable contractors who are new to the Nudura system.
Who handles permits and local-code compliance?
The design and engineering package is prepared for the project and local conditions. The client and local contractor submit to the local housing authority, coordinate plan review, obtain permits, and manage required inspections. Local code and the engineer of record govern final specifications.
How long does the process take?
A preliminary construction target is approximately 18–26 weeks from permit issuance to move-in, depending on jurisdiction, site conditions, contractor availability, design complexity, weather, inspections, and finish selections. Design, engineering, permitting, and procurement occur before that field schedule.
How are materials shipped?
Projects east of the Rockies are fulfilled through Atlanta, Georgia. Projects west of the Rockies, Hawaii, and the Pacific Islands are fulfilled through Salt Lake City, Utah, which also remains the SolidCore and House-By-Numbers main office. Every project-specific package ships directly to the jobsite by container or the appropriate freight service.
What changes in seismic areas?
Reinforcement, connections, and detailing follow the local code and engineer of record. LiteBar GFRP may be used where approved; steel reinforcement or other project-specific requirements are sourced and specified when required.
What warranty is available?
Nudura publishes limited ICF warranty coverage for specified thermal and acoustical performance, and eligible Tremco CPG assemblies may qualify for broader single-source envelope coverage. The actual products, coverage, duration, installer requirements, exclusions, and remedies are defined only by the project-specific issued warranty.
Can the exterior still look custom and luxurious?
Absolutely. ICF determines how the home performs, not how it must look. Dryvit finishes, NewBrick, glazing, custom iron entries, roof forms, exterior detailing, and designer-selected materials allow contemporary, transitional, regional, or fully custom architecture. Luxury is not a price point.
